Ernst von Weizsäcker, Ph.D. is Dean of the UCSB's Donald Bren School of Environmental Science & Management. In earlier years he held positions in Germany as professor of biology, university president, director of a became the founding president of the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, and Energy. In 1998, he was elected a Member of the German Parliament, where he served as Chairman first of the Globalization Comm Politic, Factor Four: Doubling Wealth, Halving Resource Use, and Limits to Privatization.
