Arthritis, Heart Disease, Bone Loss Jeffrey Bland, PhD

Over the past decade an integrative concept that links the etiology of arthritis to that of cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis has started to emerge. This concept is rooted in the development of a systems biology approach to medical thought and clinical intervention. In this presentation a review of the evidence that these three seemingly divergent clinical conditions are linked in their etiology and treatment strategy will be developed. From this background an integrated approach to the prevention and management of these conditions will be advanced based upon the focus upon normalizing the function of the neuroendocrineimmune system.
